Owner/designer Darryl Savage scours the French countryside to bring back the best of these treasures. DHS Designs has two unique shops in Maryland which offer a complete array of fine antique Continental furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries as well as decorative arts, and specialize in antique garden appointments and exquisitely carved French limestone mantelpieces, which range from ornately carved Renaissance pieces to the simple clean line of the 18th-century Neoclassical style. These works of art come from the Loire Valley, and are the handiwork of artisans of the courts, who flourished from the 16th-18th centuries, and are for a select few who want to share a part of history and will not settle for reproductions. With their great style and beauty, these treasures will bring lasting satisfaction to any home.
